Jason Keller

Jason Keller is a decorated 17-year police veteran in one of Texas’ top tourist destinations. Currently, Keller is a community relations police sergeant with a Master Peace Officer License. Keller has a lifetime of mixed martial arts training and is world-renowned expert and speaker on Personal Safety with an emphasis on traveling. Keller has implemented a women’s self-defense program with over 1000 women successfully trained. Keller specializes in the use of social media to disseminate ‘real time’ safety concerns and address crime trends to his constituents.

Keller is a certified instructor of Tourism Oriented Policing Skills (TOPS) and co-authored a Tourism Surety report for his community. Keller has conducted training in the United States, Mexico and Belize. Keller is well versed in such programs as Crime Free Hotel-Motel, Crime Free Multi-Housing, Crime Free Mobile Housing, and Crime Free RV Parks which are widely accepted and supported internationally to: ensure safe environments for guests and employees, maintain inventory and profits, reduce costs for repairs and mitigate litigation.

Keller previously served on SWAT for 12 years and has been trained by the United States Secret Service in Dignitary Protection. Keller coordinated Marine One landing zone for former President George W. Bush and has been on protective details for former President George H.W. Bush and William J. Clinton as well as several members of Joint Chiefs of Staff. Keller has received extensive training in critical infrastructure protection and the recognition of bombs and explosive devices.

Keller is a Texas Department of Public Safety Instructor of Personal Protection, Comprehensive Protection Planning, Crowd Management, Armed & Unarmed Defensive Tactics and Conflict Resolution & Avoidance. Keller is recognized by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Crime Prevention Specialist. Keller is an Adjunct Instructor for Texas State University, Institute of Criminal Justice Studies and the Texas Crime Prevention Association on such topics as Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, School Based Law Enforcement Crime Prevention and Active Shooter. Currently, Keller serves as 2nd Vice President, Training Coordinator for the Texas Crime Prevention Association is over-seeing the development of new crime prevention curriculum.

Keller earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Radford University in 1996 and earned his M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis Public Administration, Alternative Dispute Resolutions and Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas in 2003.

Keller authored an award winning Community Policing Initiative which was recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police 2012.
