Mark Lewin brings to Tourism & More expertise in aviation, security and tourism. Lewin’s wealth of knowledge, education, and training is an invaluable asset to the tourism industry with respect to airport and aircraft security. Lewin’s work in Safety Management Systems (SMS) enhances security- tools such as risk management matrices. His airport layout, planning, management, and education further build a foundation for a secure future in and around airports

After being accepted to Florida Institute of Technology, Mark continued to work on advanced ratings and certifications. In December of 2000 Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management; including curriculum in airport design and management. Shortly after graduation, he began working for Continental Express as a first officer on the ATR-42 and the Embraer 145 jet. Lewin flew for Continental Express for five years. He now flies for AirTran Airways and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mark has studied with the US Department in Homeland Security in such areas as: close quarter fighting, weapons training, and retention. Mark began working on his Master’s Degree in Aviation policy, Safety, and Security at the University of Nebraska. During his studies for his Graduate degree he interned at a commercially operated airport in Trenton, New Jersey and has become an expert in decision-making and creating policies. He is currently finishing his thesis based on employing behavioral theories to efficiently strengthen security and safety. He anticipates graduating in May of 2013. Mark will also complete graduate work in Homeland Security at New Jersey’s Thomas Edison State College.
